Ellie, a 12 years old Israeli, just arrived in the USA with her parents. It is the start of a new life. She feels homesick, finds it hard to get along at school and needs to learn everything : English, this incomprehensible language, and this unknown country’s culture. Her life will soon brighten up as she meets one of her classmate from Vietnam.

Drawing mainly on memories from her own childhood to write and produce FOREIGN LETTERS, Ela Thier gives the audience a touching chronicle of the everyday life of a young foreign girl in the United States, with both hindsight and humour.
