Abandoned by his parents when he was small, Adrian, 11, tries to manage life between an authoritarian grandmother, a critically ill uncle, and friends that are growing unfriendly towards him. His life takes a new turn when he meets Nicole, a little girl of his age who has just moved in next door.

Daniel Joseph Borgman
Born in 1981 in New Zealand, he graduated in Cinema from the University of Otago before leaving for Copenhagen. After having worked on several films for calibration and visual effects, he moves on to directing with two shorts films, The Man & the Albatross (Shown in Locarno in 2007) and Lars and Peter (2009). He enters the Danish Film School in 2009 and directs Behaviour, Kaleidoscope and Berik (Grand Prix Canal+ during the critic week 2010). The Weight of Elephants is his first full-length feature film, directed in residence in the Cinéfondation.
