Edinburgh, 1874. Jack is born on the world’s coldest day, so cold that his heart stays frozen. Doctor Muffin saves him by replacing his faulty heart with a mechanical clock. He will survive if he respects three rules : never touch the hands, master his anger and never, ever fall in love. His encounter with Miss Acacia will speed up the pace of the clock’s hands…

Mathias Malzieu

Born in 1974 in Montpellier, Mathias Malzieu is the singer and lyricist of the French rock band Dionysos. He publishes a collection of short stories and two novels, followed in 2007 by The Cuckoo-Clock Heart, that inspires the eponymous musical album. The animation film Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart, co-directed by Stéphane Berla, is released in 2014. As he did for the album, Mathias Malzieu is the voice of the main character, Jack. He also composes for other artists.

Stéphane Berla

Born in 1975 in Lyon, Stéphane Berla composes and directs music videos, including works for Dionysos, Matmatah, Mathieu Chedid and Gaëtan Roussel, before co-directing his first feature film, Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart in 2013.
