Coping with the recent death of his father, Chinu, 11-year old boy moves to a small Konkan town from a big city because of his mother’s job transfer. He finds it difficult to adjust to the new place and finds himself alienated and reluctant to open up to its people. Both Chinu and his mother grapple with their own individual struggles and anxieties in the new town. In the process, they emerge with newer experiences and as newer people, both healed and enriched.

Avinash Arun

Avinash Arun was born in 1985 in India. He studied at the Film and Television Institute in Maharashtra, in the shooting section. He was the cinematographer on The Light and Her Shadows, which received the Kodak Student Cinematography Award, on Allah Is Great – representing India at the Student Academy Awards –, on Deool (2011) and on Kai Po Che (2012). The Fortress (Killa) was his first feature film as a director, for which he was also the cinematographer. In 2014, he was awarded the Crystal Bear for the Best Film in the Generation section at the Berlinale for this film.
