Zaineb, nine, lives in Tunis since her father’s death. When her mother wants to start a new life with a man living in Canada, who also has a daughter, Zaineb wants none of it. She does not trust her stepfather at all, she doesn’t trust this new country either, and she doesn’t like snow.

Kaouther Ben Hania

Born in 1977 in Sidi Bouzid in Tunisia, Kaouther Ben Hania studies business before joining first the EDAC in Tunis in 2002, then the Fémis for script writing and finally the Sorbonne. After several short films, including Me, My Sister and the Thing (2007), she completes the documentary Imams go to School in 2010 before directing a series for children the following year. Her first feature film, The Blade of Tunis, was shown in 2014 for the opening of the ACID festival in Cannes and earned her international recognition. Her last film, Zaineb Doesn’t Like Snow, is nominated in 2016 in Locarno and wins a prize for best documentary at Cinemed.
