The films of the 24nd Ciné Junior filmfest are screened in sixteen cinema theatres in the Val-de-Marne county.
The catalogue and the schedule will be available for mid-december 2013.

Cine Junior Press / Industry Accreditation

Accreditation, offered to qualified members of the Press and Industry, allows free entry to the Cine Junior Festival that will start on January the 29th.
Accreditation is usually extended by invitation only. You will be notified of your accreditation status by email.

Prizes

The Cine Junior Grand Prize
Cash prize (8000 euros) granted to the french distributor who will distribute the film.

The C.I.C.A.E Prize (International Confederation of Art Cinemas)
The Prize helps towards distribution systematically informing the 2,000 CICAE member cinemas, as an incentive for distribution companies to market the filmsdiscovered and in order to promote their circulation.

The Grain à Démoudre Festival Award
The awarded film will be shown to the next edition of their festival.
This festival is organized by young people aged from 10 to 25 since May 2000.
This incredible adventure enables them to pass on their passion for cinema to others. Recognized at the European level, the festival gathers each year more and more professionals and young film enthusiasts from all Europe.

The Young Jurys Prize
Children aged 5 to 15 from several schools in the area are designated as jurys and attend all the screenings of the competition sections and finally award their prizes.

The Audience Prize
This prize goes to the international short-films competition. Parents and children alike vote for the best-loved film in the three age groups : 3/6, 7/10 and 11 & onwards.

A kitten become blue and gets rejected by the other animals in the village. How to exist in other people’s eyes while being so different ?

Sametka
Animation / Czechoslovakia / 1976 / 16 min
Sametka is a concert artist caterpillar. Taken in by a little boy who plays the harmonica, she performs in concerts and meets success. Having become famous after her many music tours around the globe, she will find out what daily life as a music star is like.

The children will discover and enter the colorful world of the Mole by Zdeneˇk Miler with many games : puzzles, cubes, domino, labyrinth, drawing contests...

Animated Paintings Exhibition

An exhibition showing about fifty original paintings seen in his films, but also several storyboards, cels and sketches will take place in Gentilly from the 4th till the 25th of February.

A great opportunity to get to know the work of a master while understanding everything about animation in animated paintings.

The Swiss filmmaker Georges Schwizgebel, born in 1944, is one of the great names of contemporary animated cinema. He is the author of several prize-winning short films, acclaimed in festi- vals such as Cannes, Annecy, Zagreb, Hiroshima, Stuttgart, Ottawa and Espinho.

The Ciné Junior festival pays tribute to him in this edition by presenting four of his films, The Man with no Shadow (“Animated Paintings” programme), Chemin faisant (Short films competition) Le Sujet du tableau and Jeu (“When Paintings come to Life” programme).

Zdeneˇk Miler

Born in Czechoslovakia in 1921, Zdeneˇk Miler enjoys painting as a child. From 1936 he studies at the College of Arts and Crafts and joins in 1942 the National Graphic School in Prague. He starts working for the animation studio Bat’a and gets specialized in animated films. After World War II, he starts working in the animation company Bratrˇi v Triku as an animator, then author and director. He have directed about 70 films. His most famous character is The Mole who comes up in 50 episods. His Cricket and Puppy are also well-known.
